Wow! A Brand new Symba for $1500!

March 1, 2011 - Update:  Wasko's is sold out!

How'd you like to get a brand new Symba for under dealer cost?  Way under, in fact. Team Symba has just learned that Wasko's, a major SYM dealership in Whitehall, PA has decided to clear out their remaining stock of 2010 Symba scooters at the amazing low price of $1500.  MSRP is $2499, so this represents a savings of $1,000.  That's an excellent value for such a quality vehicle.  Contact them at www.waskos.com or 1-888-927-5640.  I've bought Symba accessories from this dealership and they are good people.

If you're in the market for a Symba, it makes sense to purchase a 2010 model.  For one thing, there are no changes planned to the Symba for 2011.  For another thing, availability of the Symba in the future might be a problem, due to the continuing effects of the fire that destroyed the Carter Brothers factory/warehouse in Alabama last June.

Note:  this is not an advertisement.  teamsymba.com has no commercial relationship with Wasko's, Inc.

  2. Hi Ryan - there are quite a number of Honda Cub clones out there and most of them are not very good quality - certainly not up to the standard of the Honda or SYM versions. If there are no brand markings on the bike then I think it's pretty certain that it's one of the rather inferior clones, mostly made in China, that are not likely to satisfy you in terms of quality and/or reliability. These bikes are also dangerous on the road, IMHO. If you want to post some pictures of the bike, you can do so on the Yahoo group (http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/SYMBA/).

  3. Thanks for the help, but what do you mean by dangerous on the road? like fall apart as i drive? ouch! sadly i am stuck looking at buying from the scooters i have available to me here in albania, and it seems SYM are not in that group. it looks like my best option now is the yamaha townmate T50, they are all over the place here in tirana, cheap, durable, and not the first scooter that people want to steal. i will keep my options open for a little while longer, but my feet are killing me from all this walking, i need a scooter and quick, thanks again and i love your forum.
    happy scootering!

  4. Ryan and Nadia - by, "dangerous on the road", I mean that some people who have bought these cheap clones have experienced pretty scary failures, such as brake levers snapping in half when they applied the brakes, wheel bearings disintegrating into dust (resulting in wobbly wheels), and seized motors/transmissions. They also tend to rust rather quickly and the plastic parts are flimsy. Also, electronics and switches (headlight, turn signals, etc...) tend to fail prematurely.
